In September 2014, The Board of Directors and Head of School Pilar Cabeza de Vaca announced that Madeira has met a $10 million challenge grant from an anonymous private foundation—the largest single gift in the school’s history.

Thanks to this challenge, we have successfully raised more than $20.2 million toward the completion of Phase 1 of our Dorm Modernization Project, which encompasses the renovation of Main, Main Terrace, and East Dorm. Much of this work was done over the summer of 2014 which you can see in the video and photos below.
Updates to the dorms include geothermal heating and cooling, energy-efficient windows, renovated bathrooms, ADA accessible entrances, improved lighting, upgraded technology infrastructure, and modern pipes and plumbing.
